Teaching

Being good at math is being good at being stuck…and thinking ‘okay, what’s the next step?’ —Courtney Gibbons, So, you think you’re bad at math?

I believe teaching is an integral part of being an academic and a mathematician. As an educator, I am committed to creating welcoming environments where all students, regardless of background or major, can engage meaningfully with mathematics.

Previous Teaching

University of Pennsylvania

In Summer 2025, I taught Math 3120: Linear Algebra. I was a grader/TA for the following courses:

I also helped coordinate teacher trainings for the math department between 2023-2026 and was a teaching fellow at the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Innovation in 2023-2024.

Prison teaching

I’ve volunteered with different prison teaching programs, especially Princeton’s Prison Teaching Initiative (PTI), to offer college-accredited courses to incarcerated people. I was part of a teaching team for the following courses:

  • Math in the Courtroom workshop at State Correctional Institute, Chester (Spring 2026)
  • MATH-015: Beginning Mathematics at the South Woods State Prison (Fall 2024)
  • MATH-015: Beginning Mathematics at the South Woods State Prison (Spring 2022)

I also tutored (math) at South Woods State Prison for a few semesters between 2022-2026. I was a graduate fellow for PTI in 2024-2025.

Reed College

I was the course assistant for Math 202: Vector Calculus (taught by Prof. Jerry Shurman) and I tutored for a variety of math and philosophy classes through the Office of Academic Support.
